[Read more] the scholar has observed the area from the lateral to medial malleolus and superior surface of talus (pestle) create a bracket shaped socket (mortar) which look like a Khallakora Sandhi. This structure can be incorporated as Gulpha Sandhi. If Gulpha Marma Viddha (Rujakara Marma) is not treated by skilled Vaidya, it can be turn in to Vaikalkar Marma. On the basis of data of incidence of sports injury, it can be said that excessive external rotation (inversion, adduction, planterflexion, supination) of the ankle results in a severe ankle injury and the sports such as football, basketball, soccer and volleyball are mainly responsible for the ankle injury.

[Read more] The scholar has correlated Vitapa Marma in view of the Ayurvedic and modern literature. The dissection was performed in Pt. Khusilal Sharma Ayurvedic College and Gandhi Medical College Bhopal under the expert guidance, as well as in the dissection workshop held at Nadiad Gujrat). The scholar was able to correlate the Vitapa Marma with corresponding anatomical structures and giving an alternate hypothesis.
Although the scholar has not observed these structures in a living body. There is a need of further study for classification and accurate description of Viddha Lakshana as they can not be observed in a dead specimen.
